Problem formulation, practical application, and results analysis. Unconstrained nonlinear problems, constrained linear and nonlinear problems, and multi-objective optimization. Graduate students will do additional work in surrogate models and optimizing under uncertainty. Extensive use of Matlab functions and programming. PREREQ: MAT 485
