The Department of Teaching and Leadership offers eight undergraduate teacher-preparation programs. There are two B.S. degrees in inclusive education. The first is in inclusive early childhood special education, which meets academic requirements for New York State early childhood, birth-2nd grade, and special education, birth-2nd grade, initial certification. The second is in inclusive elementary and special education which meets academic requirements for New York State childhood, grades 1-6 and special education/childhood, grades 1-6, initial certification. The Department of Teaching and Leadership also offers teacher preparation programs in the secondary areas of English education, mathematics education, science education, and social studies education as dual enrollment programs with the College of Arts and Sciences. The curriculum for these programs meets academic requirements for New York State, grades 7-12, initial certification. Music and art education special programs are offered as dual enrollment programs with the School of Education and the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
