The Department of Health and Wellness offers a 123-credit program leading to a bachelor of science (B.S.) in health and wellness. Graduates can pursue a career or graduate study in the areas of community health education, health promotion, and other health-related fields.
The academically rigorous health and wellness program helps you develop the skills you need to analyze and provide practical solutions to health issues. The curriculum combines program-specific courses with professional and liberal arts requirements, including health issues among diverse populations; factors influencing the health of individuals, families, and communities; community-based participatory research; health literacy; and cultural competence, with a predominant focus on health promotion. The program includes an 18-credit professional role concentration in an area of your choice, such as health communications, fitness, health informatics, family health, healthy aging or community health education.
