The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, founded in 1924, is a center for teaching and research in public and international affairs as well as training for the public service and academic careers. It serves, at the undergraduate level, as the social sciences division of The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University, housing the traditional social sciences departments of anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, public affairs, and sociology. Maxwell is also home to interdisciplinary majors in policy studies and international relations.
